Frank "Frenchy" Chevalier
St. Petersburg, Florida
c. 1920's - 1930's

Frank Chevalier was born of Louisiana-French descent. He began his lure making operation in St. Petersburg after receiving a small inheritance from his deceased aunt. "Frenchy" loved to fish for snook at night. His lure designs are an obvious expression of his angling interests. Many feature glass eyes and glittered paint schemes. Interestingly, there's a broad range of styles and sizes in the glass eyes he used -- indicating they came from several different suppliers. Sadly, Frenchy died a pauper. In exchange for his lures, close friends incurred the costs of his burial.
