N.E. Mooney
Lakeland, Florida
c. 1932

Little is known of Henry Goodrich or his unique darter. Made by the N. E. Mooney Company, the "Goodrich Special" features sleek, distinctive lines and a highly unusual treatment of the belly weight (it's actually located inside the lower portion of the mouth). The paint process combined an airbrushed basecoat with hand-painted highlights to create a very stylized frog pattern.

The Goodrich Special is arguably the most coveted darter-type lure among collectors, as only one box and a handful of finished lures have surfaced to date.
