Johnny Marsh received his introduction to lure making from the master, Dick Porter. As a young man, Marsh worked part time finishing and painting lures for the Porter Bait Company. In the mid-to-late 1950's, he founded the Marsh Bait Company, whose trademark read, "Marsh Makes Better Baits."
