Porter Bait Company
Daytona Beach, Florida
c. 1939

One of Florida's most talented lure makers, Richard "Dick" Porter was an absolute master with an airbrush. He developed many successful lure designs, painting them all with brilliant, attractive color schemes. Some of the early examples feature a distinctive "target" painted on the belly.

The orange box below is the first of several box designs used by Porter. This ultra rare example is printed with the exact same catalog numbers used by the Dixie Bait Company.
