P.H. Rainey
Opa Locka, Florida
c. 1940's - 1950's

The Rainey's Secret was one of Florida's more unique surface lures. With its double-grooved head, Rainey's lure would roll belly up when pulled — which, according to the maker, resembled a struggling baitfish trying to regain its equilibrium. Obviously, the "secret" was in the action.

It was once believed that all of Rainey's lures came packaged in a plastic-top cardboard box (like the one shown). However, a two-piece cardboard box was recently discovered. If you know of one, be sure to contact me ASAP!
