Many collectors categorize Earl Robinson's lure production into three separate and distinct periods - the folk-art period, the two-lure period, and the post-war production period. His early works are masterful. However, his later efforts became more streamlined for production, and seem to chase Jim Pfeffer's designs. Pfeffer and Robinson became rivals as a result. Comparing his earliest work with the more recent, it's hard to accept that they are by the same maker. |
