Arthur "Dazzy" Vance was a famous big league pitcher who loved to fish. He's featured here in his 1933 Brooklyn Dodgers baseball trading card. Late in his career, Dazzy formed a partnership with Paul Manon to build and market fishing lures. Because of Dazzy's fame, the company brand bared his name. | ![]() |
All of their lures were packaged in cedar boxes similar to those used for cigars, and they are considered a very rare form of packaging for a Florida lure maker. Note: The lure in the photo is believed to be the predecessor
to the Dalton Special. Somehow it has ties to Paul Manon. |
