Aug 8-10, 2002
David Hall wins with 15 bass weighing 42-06
Weather Conditions:
Windy cold front passed, temp rose during week to 90 degrees.

Water Temperature:

80 degree range
Water Clarity:
Stained early in week, cleared as tournament progressed.
Lure Selections:
3/8 oz Terminator Spinnerbait
Cover:
Deep water on edges of hydrilla beds.


Louisiana Bassmaster Central Open
Red River- Shreveport, LA
Aug 24-26, 2002
Homer Humphreys wins with 13 bass weighing 42-03
Weather Conditions:
Air temp mid 90's,
High humidity. Heat index from 105-107 degrees
Water Temperature:
86-92 degrees
Water Clarity:
Visibility from 8-24 inches
Lure Selections:
Carolina rig with 6-inch Reaction Lures Lizard
Cover:
Brush and scattered wood on a 5 foot flat point as it dropped into 10 feet and then sharply into 20 feet of water..


New York Bassmaster Northern Open
St. Lawrence River - Clayton, NY
Sept. 12-14, 2002
Koby Krieger wins with 15 bass weighing 52-00
Weather Conditions:
Partly cloudy, light winds, temp in high 70's

Water Temperature:

65 to 69 degrees
Water Clarity:
Unusually clear
Lure Selections:
D's Tube rigged on 1/4-ounce jighead
Cover:
Scattered rock and vegetation on broad flat close to deep water.


South Carolina Bassmaster Southern Open
Lake Murray - Columbia, SC
Sept. 19-21, 2002
Daniel Welch wins with 13 bass weighing 33-02
Weather Conditions:
Daytime air temp in high 80's.Heavy rain before tournament, sporadic showers each day.
Water Clarity:
Did not muddy from rain. Maintained unsual 1- to 2-foot visibility.
Lure Selections:
3/8 oz double-bladed Buzzbait (white) and 5 1/2-inch Zoom Swamp Crawler
Cover:
Slowly tapering rocky points dotted with sparse patches of hydrilla.


Arkansas Bassmaster Central Open
Lake Ouachita - Hot Springs, AR

Sept 26-28, 2002
Greg Hackney wins with 10 bass weighing 28-01
Weather Conditions:
Warmed during week to 91 degrees
High pressure, clear skies

Water Temperature:

74-77 degrees
Water Clarity:
Clear water
Lure Selections:
1 1/4-ounce Lunker Lure Rattleback Jig (black/blue/purple) with a Zoom Super Chunk Trailer (blue).
Cover:
Outside edges of isolated mats of hydrilla.


New York Bassmaster Northern Open
Hudson River- Catskill, N.Y.
Oct 3-5, 2002
Woo Daves wins with 14 bass weighing 32-05
Weather Conditions:
Fast moving front with rain dropped air temp from 70's & 80's before competition to 50's on day 2 before warming to 70's on final day.
Water Temperature:
66 to 68 degrees
Water Clarity:
Good clarity along main river
Lure Selections:
Zoom Craw, French fry and U-Tail worm and 3/4 oz. Ledgebuster spinnerbait
Cover:
Concrete bridge pilings.

Boyd L. Duckett wins with 12 bass weighing 33-08
Weather Conditions:
Air temp 55 to high 60's
Overcast with some rain

Water Temperature:

High 60's
Water Clarity:
Stained
Lure Selections:
Topwater (Lucky Craft Sammy 100 and 115 both clear with brown back) and Crankbait (No. 5 Shad Rap)
Cover:
Gravel and mud flat adjacent to channel.


Texas Bassmaster Central Open
Sam Rayburn Reservoir - Jasper, TX
Oct. 31 - Nov. 2, 2002
Rick Clunn wins with 15 bass weighing 43-06

Weather Conditions:
Air temp 50's to mid 60's
Wind NNE 10 to 15 mph
Overcast with drizzle

Water Temperature:

Fell from 72 degrees in practice to 68 degrees by final day
Water Clarity:
Muddy water from heavy rains
Lure Selections:
Crankbaits (Norman's Tiny N & Deep Baby N) and Spinnerbaits (1/2 oz Stanley in shad pattern)
Cover:
Hydrilla on edge of creek channel and creek points.


Alabama Bassmaster Southern Open
Lake Martin - Alexander City, AL
Nov. 21 - Nov. 23, 2002
Coby Carden wins with 15 bass weighing 36-07

Weather Conditions:
Falling Air temp to mid 50's
Wind NW 10 to 15 mph
Water Temperature:
Fell from low 60's to mid 50's by final day
Water Clarity:
Generally clear, stained in creeks
Lure Selections:
Bomber model 6A crankbait, 3/8 oz. Leverage buzzbait, YUM tube bait
Cover:
Isolated laydowns in shallow water
