Weather Conditions:
Partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80's.
Lure Selections:
6-inch Wave Worm
Cover:
Wood and rocks in a backwater spoil area.


Mississippi Bassmaster Central Open
Tennessee-Tombigbee River - Columbus, MISS
Aug 21-23, 2003
Kevin Short wins with 15 bass weighing 39-04
Weather Conditions:
Very high heat and humidity. Clear skies with little wind.
Water Temperature:
High 80's
Water Clarity:
Stained and muddy
Lure Selections:
Crankbaits
Cover:
Cypress trees in 2 to 8 feet of water


Washington Bassmaster Western Open
Columbia River - Kennewick, WASH
Sept. 18-20, 2003
Chris Lambert wins with 15 bass weighing 42-09
Weather Conditions:
Good weather with clear and partly cloudy skies. Daytime highs in the 70's.
Water Temperature:
Surface temperatures ranging from 61 to 64 degrees.
Water Clarity:
Clear
Lure Selections:
3-inch Gary Yamamoto Senko.
Cover:
Small rocks around a channel marker.


Alabama Bassmaster Southern Open
Lake Wheeler - Decatur, AL
Sept. 25-27, 2003
Denny Brauer wins with 14 bass weighing 32-10
Weather Conditions:
5 inches of rain and flooding three days before tournament began.
Water Clarity:
Stained and muddy.
Lure Selections:
Jigs and tubes and crankbaits.
Cover:
Wood cover in the backs of creeks.

 

Florida Bassmaster Southern Open
Lake Okeechobee - Okeechobee, FL
Oct. 16-18, 2003
J.T. Kinney wins with 15 bass weighing 61-12
Weather Conditions:
Cold front on last practice day. Sunny skies with highs in the low 80's. Winds to 20-mph on first day.
Water:
Cold front dropped temp from 83 to 78 degrees. Level was 4 feet above normal.
Lure Selections:
3-inch Gambler B.B. Cricket
Cover:
Heavy mats of hydrilla.

 

California Bassmaster Western Open
Clear Lake - Clearlake, CA
Oct. 23-25, 2003
Mark Tyler wins with 15 bass weighing 48-14
Weather Conditions:
Bright skies with light wind. Daily temperatures from low-50's to mid-80's.
Water:
Surface temp averaged 64 degrees. Poor visibility ranging from 8 inches to 2 feet.
Lure Selections:
Tubes, Traps, and Spinnerbaits
Cover:
Isolated grassbeds
